给孩子读艾莉森.简的绘本，对父母可能是一种挑战。这位来自英国的绘本女作家，素来以“碎蛋壳”画法、巧妙安置的故事线索和遍布暗示的画面闻名。她创作的书，在形式上，特别注重构图的和谐、用色的典雅，在内容上，则将西方传统的童话、童谣、故事融入其中，同时在画面的前后呼应、故事的步步推进、细节的精心设计上独具一格，真正是形式与内容的完美融合。读她的绘本，常让人发出“原来如此”的感叹，充满解谜与发现的乐趣，是“眼”与“脑”收获的双重盛宴。

海豚出版社的这套《让想象飞》，引进了艾莉森的“我的第一本图画书”系列，包括《字的故事》、《数字的挑战》和《颜色的世界》，既可以帮助幼儿认识基本的数字、颜色和词语，又能当作儿童英语学习的入门书。

翻开《字的故事》，我们将看到一座古老的时钟。环绕着钟面的，按照左上－右上－右下－左下的顺序排列，分别是一年四季的景色，春天的田野、夏天的小花、秋天的落叶和冬天的白雪，在钟面的正上是一幅太阳的画面，钟面上，时针和分针正滴答滴答的走着。这样一个画面，已经对时间的概念，从分钟、小时、天、季节和年的角度进行了解读，如果有心，还可以讲一讲太阳方位和时间的关系。此外，在钟的右上角趴着一只小老鼠，让人想起那首儿歌“Hickry dickry dock，the mouse ran up the clock”（滴答滴答滴，老鼠爬上钟）。

接着，一只小狗跳过春天的原野、追逐一只皮球，远远的，男孩和女孩正在奔跑，再远一点，是一座绿色的小山。再翻开一页，如同电影的镜头逐渐拉近，两个孩子拎着水桶向小山上的水井走去，右下角有一座砖红色的房子。下一页，透过房子的窗口，小狗追的球扑进来，碰倒了窗台上的鲜花，窗外的小山坡上，孩子们滚下山、弄洒了水桶。是不是让你耳边回响起这首歌，“Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water. Jack fell down and broke his crown. And Jill came tumbling after.”（杰克和吉尔，上山去打水，杰克摔一跤，摔破了王冠，吉尔滚下来，跟在他后面）再往下看吧，夏天孩子们到海边玩耍，田野里盛开着鲜花；秋天树叶随风飘落，秋雨阵阵大地萧索；冬天圣诞节就要来到，白雪皑皑世界银装素裹。每一页都隐藏着许多秘密，房子一会在鱼缸里、一会在圣诞树下，泰迪熊呢、船呢、蜗牛呢、乌龟呢——再想一想，还有哪些熟悉的歌曲在悄悄唱响呢。注意看哦，墙上挂的画也大有深意。这是一本多么奇妙的书啊。

而《数字的挑战》则是一场童话的盛会。第一页，一个小姑娘躺在床上睡熟了，枕边躺着一只玩具鹅，手中还拿着一本童话书。一只小猪存钱罐和一只小鸟停在窗台上，窗外，月亮戴着一顶睡帽微笑着，整个世界如此安静。下一页，咦，玩具鹅变大了，小姑娘呢，正骑在它身上，飞向高高的天空，这不正是鹅妈妈的传说吗？画面的底部――地面上，两只绵羊在奔跑、两只小猪在赶路、两棵树投下影子、两所房子静静站立；画面中央――近旁的一棵树上，两只松鼠在嬉戏；屋顶上，两只猫头鹰在张望；画面上方――天鹅张开两个翅膀，两朵白云在空中飘荡。这所有的一切，只是一幅数字“2”的画面。多么丰富的细节！还有哪些童话呢？三只小猪和大灰狼、青蛙王子、丑小鸭、姜饼小人、杰克和豆茎、彩衣吹笛人、生金蛋的鹅、小红帽、灰姑娘、白雪公主和七个小矮人、汉赛尔与格莱特、睡美人、豌豆公主、三只熊、跳舞的红鞋子——这本书中共有十六个童话，你都能一一找到吗？这些童话，每一个都可以讲许久，那这一本48开的小书，到底能讲多久啊。

还有哦，注意看每一幅画，除了正在讲的故事的主角，下一个故事的人物或场景也在同时上演哦。就说“4”和“5”这两幅图吧。四只戴皇冠的青蛙在荷叶上休息，远处，一只低着头的丑丑的小鸭子正游来游去哦。而五只鸭子向你游过来的时候，一只胳膊夹着金球的青蛙正在荷叶上跑着，那不正是青蛙从小公主那里拿走的金球吗？还有还有，注意看每一页的每一样东西，都和要说的数字有关呢。你看“7”的那一页，豆荚里有七只豆子、七只蜜蜂嗡嗡嗡、七只瓢虫爬爬爬、七只奶牛哞哞哞。“9”的那一页，有几只小狗呢，左边的树上，有几只梨子，右边的树上，又挂着几只苹果？这本书，怎么那么奇妙。而且、而且，翻到书的最后一页，太阳出来了，小姑娘睡醒了，原来，这是一场最美的梦。慢着，如果是梦，窗台上，怎么会有三只小猪存钱罐、一枚金蛋、一颗豌豆、一朵美丽的玫瑰——

最后让我们一起翻开《颜色的世界》，领略神奇的色彩和美妙的童谣。小男孩和小狗坐在窗台上画画，窗外下着雨，天灰蒙蒙的。那就从灰色开始吧。三只灰色的小老鼠往前跑，后面跟着小男孩的妈妈，手里举着刀和叉。

    瞧，艾莉森.简的书是不是很有趣？像不像一颗洋葱，你剥开一层，想不到还有更美妙的另一层。就这样，一层又一层品尝到优秀绘本无穷的滋味。在这一颗颗洋葱的中间，是作者那颗金子一样的童心，是她发现美、创造美的本领，正是有了这样的心灵和这样的画笔，才为我们的孩子、为我们开启了一扇通往仙境的大门。我们推开门，发现了一个神秘、美丽、可爱的童真世界，快来吧，跟着艾莉森到彩虹的尽头，漫游。
